Pray

God is using migration to bring lost people into relationship with Himself. Every Christian can get excited about that. Regardless of your political views on migration or what is happening in your country with immigrants, Jesus wants you to see them as people He loves and died for– people worthy of your time, of your compassion, and of hearing the good news about Him.

Pray for the thousands of people waiting in Reynosa and Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico. Their living conditions are inhumane and they find themselves hopeless and in distress.

“When a stranger sojourns with you in your land, you shall not do him wrong. You shall treat the stranger who sojourns with you as the native among you, and you shall love him as yourself, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.

Leviticus 19:33-34

If you’d like to have a further biblical perspective on welcoming the stranger, read Welcoming the Nations Among Us (free PDF).

Your financial gift enables us to:
1. Meet immediate needs by purchasing requested items such as cooking oil, tents, or blankets.
2. Plan ahead. We strive to anticipate needs and work with suppliers to purchase things in bulk at discounted rates. This is typically things like blankets, string backpacks, and tents.
3. Provide strategic financial assistance to direct-care partners. Learn more.

The 13:2 annual operational expenses are very low and have already been raised for 2024. All additional donations are used for direct-care.

If you would like your financial gift to be used for something specific, please let us know! We are happy to honor the intent of your gift.

Send Supplies

Our Amazon Wishlist contains a list of high-impact items that are always appreciated.

A fun way for a church, small group, or family to get involved is by assembling care kits! We can always use many types of kits, including hygiene kits, school kits, infant care kits, or even fun kits for children. As you assemble the kits, keep in mind that the individuals receiving these are most likely living outdoors in tents with minimal facilities and almost no personal belongings. If you have questions about what to include, please email kevin@thirteentwo.org.

A coat, blanket, or food drive is another great way to get your church involved and help those in need.

Donations of any type can be mailed to:

Social media and news outlets tend to fall short when it comes to the reality many people are facing at the border. Whether you live locally or across the country, we would love to have you come see the border firsthand.

Opportunities include:

  • Help at the 13:2 warehouse in Mission, TX by cleaning, organizing and sorting donations, and counting inventory.
  • Visit the camps with us in Reynosa to drop off donations, participate in outreach events, and see the situation firsthand. Please review the State Department Travel Advisory for Tamaulipas state before planning a trip.
  • Volunteer remotely by assisting with graphic design needs, video editing, website maintenance, or other digital tasks.
  • Did you know that most asylum seekers do not stay at the border? Wherever you live, it’s almost certain that some of them are your neighbor! Read more about How to Care for Refugees. Contact Damaris@thirteentwo.org if you would like assistance reaching out to immigrants in your community.
