Several weeks ago, we partnered with Rio Grande Bible Church for an outreach event at a camp in Mexico. Several other organizations joined us and together provided food, clothing, hygiene kits, medical care, and more. The event was a beautiful tapestry of music, games for children, and the good news of Jesus was shared. Witnessing a diverse group of believers from varied backgrounds come together in love and service was deeply moving. This is just one example of how your support translates into real-world impact.
Our Impact in Action
We have adopted a 3-pronged approach to maximize our impact.
- In-Kind Donations: This is what we have been doing for several years and have found it to be very impactful. Generous donors (both organizations and individuals) continue to fill our warehouse with needed goods. Whether it is a single box or multiple pallets, these all make a difference in people’s lives.
- Smart Purchasing: We’re proactively purchasing critical items like emergency blankets and backpacks in bulk, ensuring we’re prepared for emerging needs.
- Financial Grants: Our on-the-ground presence has allowed us to identify high-impact opportunities, providing strategic financial support to local partners.
Of course, it’s not enough to just receive donations; we need to get them to people that need them! We continue to work with local partners on both sides of the border to transport these goods into Mexico where they are needed. Churches, missionaries, and other non-profits are all critical links in the supply chain. We personally make trips as often as possible to bring supplies and to ensure we have a good understanding of the latest dynamic in the camps.
Finally, we have improved our inventory tracking system. This enables us to track every box that enters our warehouse and record exactly when and where it was delivered. We can now tell partners exactly what is in our warehouse, and we can tell donors exactly how their donation was used.
