Our Work

The 13:2 Initiative exists to support the work of ministries serving immigrants and asylum seekers. We began at the southern border in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas, and have since expanded to Denver, Colorado. In both places, our model is the same: come alongside those already doing the work, fill gaps, and help resources reach people who need them.

At the Border
In the Rio Grande Valley, there are many ministries working independently to serve asylum seekers and migrants. 13:2 supports those efforts by providing strategic financial assistance to trusted partners through our grant program. This allows us to help meet urgent needs as they develop, putting resources in the hands of people who are already on the ground.

We also work to stay ready. By maintaining infrastructure and partnerships ahead of emerging needs, we can respond quickly when conditions at the border change.

In Denver
In Denver, we are building relationships with immigrants living in our community and working alongside local shelters and ministries to meet practical needs. We focus on interpersonal ministry and responding to needs as God puts them before us.

Raising Awareness
Wherever we are, part of our work is raising awareness of the migrant crisis to bring additional resources to those serving on the front lines. We also come alongside churches to encourage and equip them in their outreach to immigrants living locally in their communities.
